As per German publication Kicker, Bayern Munich are interested in Matthijs de Ligt and the ‘interest is mutual’.
They report that while Chelsea are also in the race to sign the center-back, De Ligt prefers a move to Bayern at the moment.
Bayern ‘have an advantage’ over Chelsea as they have maintained contact with De Ligt despite his move to Juventus in 2019. Bayern were interested in the center-back at the time too but he chose to go to Serie A.
Moreover, De Ligt would have the chance to reunite with former teammates Noussair Mazraoui & Ryan Gravenberch, who are represented by the same agency he is.
Bayern could also use Juventus’ interest in Benjamin Pavard as ‘a solution’ to get past the reported €80m fee.
