During his final interview with De Telegraaf as an Ajax manager, Erik ten Hag was asked about the rumors linking Jurrien Timber and Antony with a move to Manchester United.
The new Old Trafford manager responded: “I think all top clubs have Timber in their sight.
“If Antony would go… it would be a blow for Ajax because in their current squad there is nobody to replace him.”
It is not unusual for a manager to take some of his former players to his new club and reports in the media to suggest that Ten Hag is eyeing a few Ajax men.
Timber has been linked with a move to Old Trafford as a potential replacement for Harry Maguire as the skipper continues to struggle for consistency.
As for Antony, the forward could finally be the answer the Man United’s issues on the right side of the attack, allowing Jadon Sancho to play on the left wing.
