Erik ten Hag has told the Man United management that he would ideally want to make as many as 6 signings in the summer transfer window, as per The Mirror.
However, the Dutchman understands that his wishes depend on if he’s able to sell the unwanted players in the squad to raise more cash for transfers.
Ten Hag has pointed to two players as an absolute priority and wants the Red Devils to try and get those deals done immediately.
One of the ‘priority targets’ is Ajax defender Jurrien Timber, with whom United are reportedly holding talks over a move.
The other is Benfica striker Darwin Nunez, who Ten Hag sees as the perfect striker for his system.
Along with these two, Ten Hag is also targeting two new full-backs, a midfielder, and ideally another forward.
But he accepts the fact that the moves for Timber and Nunez is likely to take up most of the cash from the summer transfer budget.
Erik wants his summer signings done as soon as possible so that the new arrivals can start pre-season training in July.
