Giving his own take on the Cristiano Ronaldo vs Lionel Messi debate, ex-Man United midfielder Ander Herrera told AS: “You are asking for 50 goals per season. From there, if he (Messi) doesn’t score them, people talk.
“Nor should we forget that Leo has had the all-time record in Ligue 1 – he has hit the post 10 times! If he had scored 10 more goals, it would (have) been a very good season for Leo.
“For me, he is the best of all time, without any discussion. Now I admire him even more for how he manages his day-to-day life with total humility, (and) always with a smile for people.”

It’s clear that Herrera believes that Messi is the GOAT, which isn’t that surprising considering that the Argentine forward is his teammate at PSG.
Ronaldo has scored more career goals than Messi, is the highest scorer in Champions League history and holds the record for the most international goals scored by a single player – so he is definitely a GOAT in his own right.
