In an interview with Sky Sports on Tuesday, Jurgen Klopp spoke about the fans at Anfield coming together to show support for Cristiano Ronaldo and his family.
The Liverpool manager said: “The applause was pure class. We feel for Cristiano and his family.
“That was my moment of the game. So many things are much more important in life than football.”
In the 7th minute of the game, supporters of both teams applauded for Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez who tragically lost their infant son on Monday.
The 37-year-old’s partner was pregnant with twins but only the girl survived the birth. Needless to say, Ronaldo missed Manchester United’s trip to Anfield.
