Chelsea are reportedly moving closer to agreeing on a deal with Brighton for the transfer of versatile left-back Marc Cucurella.
The Blues are also ‘optimistic’ about reaching an agreement with Barcelona for Frenkie de Jong, who is admired by Thomas Tuchel.
Both of these deals are not done yet but Todd Boehly is working hard on them as he wants Chelsea to challenge for the Premier League next season.
Possible Chelsea XI next season with De Jong and Marc Cucurella

Starting XI: Mendy; Reece, Koulibaly, Silva, Cucurella, Chilwell; Kante, De Jong; Mount, Havertz, Sterling

Cucurella could also play as a left midfielder or the left wing-back, with the back three very flexible given that Kalidou Koulibaly can play all three positions there.
De Jong is a solid creative midfielder with decent work rate; he can start next to any of Kante, Kovacic or Jorginho and complement their play styles well.
Chelsea are reportedly also after Wesley Fofana but that deal is less likely to go through as Leicester are demanding over £80m for him.
