Chelsea are being persistently linked to a move for Cristiano Ronaldo ever since it was reported that he wants to leave Man United.
Todd Boehly held discussions with his agent, Jorge Mendes, over the possibility of a move and can sanction it if it can be done.
Ronaldo is one of the best players of all time, being the all-time highest goal scorer in international football history as well as the Champions League.
If he joins, the Portuguese star has to be given a respectable number.
Here are 5 Options.
1. No.7: Ronaldo has become famous wearing the no.7 jersey, being branded as ‘CR7’ for that. Currently, however, N’Golo Kante wears the no.7 at Chelsea, and he will have to give it away for Ronaldo to assume it if he arrives.
2. No.9: Cristiano had worn the no.9 shirt in his early years at Real Madrid. Fortunately for him, that number is vacant at Chelsea. It might be regarded as a ‘cursed number’ by some fans, Ronaldo is the ideal person to lift any such curse. Considering that he plays like a center-forward these days, the no.9 shirt can be the perfect fit for Ronaldo.
3. No.15: The likes of Florent Malouda and Didier Drogba both wore this number during their Chelsea days and it could be an interesting change for Ronaldo. He’s never worn anything similar to this, but Ronaldo could bring change to his career by donning this one.

4. No. 11: With rumors of Timo Werner’s exit swirling, the no.11 could be vacated in the summer. If not his preferred numbers, Ronaldo can be given the no.11 shirt – as it’s also one worn by forwards these days.
5. No. 10: Normally, the no.10 is given to playmakers or attacking midfielders, but some reservations are also made for it. If Christian Pulisic leaves this summer, this number will become vacant too. Ronaldo has worn many iconic numbers in his career and can add one more in the form of the no.10 shirt at Chelsea.
