According to Italian media outlet La Repubblica, Cristiano Ronaldo is thinking about leaving Man United this summer.
“Cristiano Ronaldo looks for a house. Not the one that will be built for 17 million pounds in Cascais. But a new team, a new start,” the report by Giulio Cardone and Matteo Pinci reads.
“The record striker at United risks finding himself the guest of a project that not only does not involve him: it does not concern him. Ten Hag’s technical project is based on Dutch football, running and possession, collective and humility.”
The source claims that a return to his first club Sporting Lisbon could be on the cards, but AS Roma are also ‘dreaming’ of an audacious deal that would reunite Ronaldo with his former manager at Real Madrid, Jose Mourinho.
Of course, neither of those clubs will be able to afford Ronaldo’s wages at Man United. Roma won’t be able to offer him the Champions League football either – although Sporting have qualified.
In any case, you’d think Ronaldo would want to join a much bigger club if he wanted to leave United after scoring 24 goals across all competitions. Moreover, there are no reliable sources who’d have reported that it was his true intention.
