Speaking to the media on Friday, Erik ten Hag said: “It [the Cristiano Ronaldo situation] is the same as last week.
“Am I concerned? Of course. But maybe it’s not the right word. I focus on the players who are there, they are doing really well, they are in good shape.
“I prefer to focus on that and develop that. I cannot wait for Cristiano to come in, then we will integrate him.”
Ronaldo failed to report back to training earlier this month, citing a ‘family issue’. The Portuguese subsequently missed Manchester United’s pre-season tour.
The 37-year-old is reportedly pushing to leave Old Trafford this summer but his agent Jorge Mendes seems to be running out of potential destinations.
