Manchester United are ready to let Cristiano Ronaldo leave this summer, but only on loan.
However, the Red Devils want Ronaldo to trigger a one-year-option clause to extend his current contract.
United want the 37-year-old to return to Old Trafford next summer for a final swansong – hopefully in the Champions League.
Ronaldo is desperate to play in Europe’s top club competition this season and is yet to link up with his teammates for preseason.
