Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk revealed the five most difficult players he’s played against, telling BT Sport: “(Sergio) Aguero was obviously unbelievable.
“(Leo) Messi, arguably the best player in the history of football in my opinion. (Kylian) Mbappe is different, quick.
“(Erling) Haaland and also Darwin (Nunez). He’s a bit similar – very direct, quick, tall, strong and it’s quite difficult to play against him.”
Van Dijk is widely considered as the best defender in world football currently and will play for Liverpool in the Champions League final against Real Madrid.
If able to help his side win it, the Dutchman will win his second Champions League title since arriving at Liverpool in 2018.
